Question
Does a person become a Musaafir by merely leaving the boundaries of وطن اقامت or does he have to intend a Shar’ee Safar in order to become a Musaafir?
Answer
A person who leaves the boundaries of his city (even if it be وطن اقامة (intending to travel the distance of Shar’ee Safar (78 km) or more will be classified as a Musaafir.
It is necessary for one to make an intention of Safar, just merely leaving the city boundary without intending Safar will not classify a person as a Musaafir.)
